Freedom Only Comes in the Press

We love our freedom

2 Corinthians 3:17 – Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Freedom comes with a price.

Revolutionary war. We are the only colony to successfully succeed from great Britain empire.

Philippians 3:12-14– Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Press dioko – press on, run a race to reach the goal – think of weightlifting

Freedom is the goal.

Prize is the high calling, your calling – it’s an aim, not a destination

2 Corinthians 3:18 – But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

  • Fruit becomes apparent – worship will transform.
  • Image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
  • Worship, along with prayer, is the engine for everything else.

Freedom makes us effective – nothing to hold us back.

1 Corinthians 15:55-58– “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” 56 The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

  • When power of death is dead, u are truly free
  • Out of death produces life (John 12:24), and life more abundantly (John 10:10) – superabundance
