Our FIRST love is Jesus, doing the FIRST works, seeking FIRST the Kingdom of God, and FIRST of all, we PRAY and WORSHIP Our King, Jesus!
(Mark 12:29-30, Revelation 2:4, Mattew 6:33, 1 Timothy. 2:1)
At First Assembly you will find…
We affectionately call ourselves the “First Family.” Why? Because, bottom line, it’s all about relationships! We are to love, encourage and enjoy one another …and be there when difficult times come.
Can being part of a church be fun? Definitely! Whether it’s our game nights, fishing outings, showers and parties, Telegraph Cruise barbeques, or just laughing at pastor’s corny jokes, we take “seriously” the scriptural command to “Rejoice!”
Whether you are a beginner in faith, an “elder,” in between somewhere, or even a skeptic, you will be encouraged in the Christian faith. Relevant Bible teaching, classes, a strong emphasis on prayer, and inspiring worship services mark the ministry at First Assembly of God.
We are concerned about those in our community and around the world who are hurting. Approximately 250 people are given groceries every week through our FirstWorks FreeStore (see http://www.firstworks.us/). We also support missionaries around the world who share the love of Christ in word and deed.
One thing you will notice if you participate in the activities of First Assembly of God is that we don’t believe in dead, dry religion. God is alive in us through his Spirit, thus our worship services, prayers, preaching and teaching is vibrant. Sit back and participate as you feel comfortable. But watch out! You might catch the fire!
We are seeking to grow in our faith and to provide a loving and accepting church. This might not seem like something to advertise, but we figure the majority of people can identify with us!
At First Assembly of God Dearborn Heights we are about investing in our people and our community. Our events are open to anyone in the community; so if you are looking for a place to call home, stop by during a Sunday or Wednesday night service or any other of our events happening throughout the week.
